John Bowne aims to provide every student with an opportunity to succeed. We expect that all of our students will be challenged to meet high academic standards and will leave John Bowne as literate, committed, inquisitive learners for life. We provide all students with a challenging learning community so that they can be prepared for a collegiate and professional environment. We seek to strengthen our parental community so that our parents are involved in the school’s academic vision.
It is our goal to develop strategies within our comprehensive educational plan which engage students in rigorous academic goals, enhance relations and improve communication among students of different backgrounds, foster positive attitudes towards school and learning, assist acculturation for our ethnically diverse population, strengthen community feeling, and propel students into their future professional and vocational aspirations. Each John Bowne High School student is motivated and encouraged to meet the new Common Core Learning Standards, to respect and appreciate individuals of different cultures, to work for the community and country, and to be a contributing citizen to their community.
