Library Mission
John Bowne high School Library aims to service a diverse and multicultural student population, including ELL, special education and high achieving students. The library provides resource materials, Internet service, over 30,000 copies of different kinds of reading materials, magazines of different interests, reference encyclopedias and English dictionaries and bi-lingual dictionaries in different languages to faculty, staff and students alike. These library materials are selected to support the school curriculum and research projects in the various school subjects. Our CCD collection at the N.Y.C. school libtrary system is “Literature and Creative Writing”. We also encourage teachers to bring their classes to the library to select books for reading assignments, for research projects and for library orientation lessons.
